Maarten Mees

Maarten Mees is a Patent Adviser. He holds a master’s degree in chemistry and obtained his PhD in Chemistry at Ghent University. After completing his PhD, Maarten pursued a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Leuven, where his research led to the development of innovative wound healing products based on a non-polymeric gelator.

Maarten’s activities at brantsandpatents include drafting patent applications and handling grant procedures, as well as advising clients on patentability, freedom to operate and infringement.

His field of work is chemistry, more specifically chemical analysis and formulation technology, industrial biotechnology and chemical product development.

Maarten is fluent in Dutch and English and has a basic knowledge of French.
