Elias Lavens
Elias Lavens is a Patent Adviser at brantsandpatents. At Ghent University, he obtained a Master’s degree in Engineering Sciences, with a specialization in Biomedical Engineering. In his thesis, he contributed to interdisciplinary research within the PolySAMP project, in which a polymer-based sampler for metabolomics was optimized using electrospinning of polyoxazolines. Following his studies, he continued to work as a researcher, finalizing this project and related initiatives.
Elias’ s activities at brantsandpatents include drafting patent applications and handling grant procedures, as well as advising clients on patentability, freedom to operate and infringement.
His field of work covers general engineering sciences, with a specialization in biomedical techniques and materials science, particularly polymer chemistry and biomaterials.
Elias is fluent in Dutch and English and has a good knowledge of French.
