Nils Dillemans

Nils Dillemans is a seasoned Intellectual Property Attorney with a strong passion for innovation and creative industries. With years of diverse experience, he has established himself as a trusted advisor to businesses navigating the complexities of IP law, with a strong focus on Trademarks and Designs.

Before joining Brantsandpatents as Head of the Trademark department, Nils served as an IP Attorney for nearly six years at a highly reputable IP consultancy firm. There, he managed a broad and dynamic client portfolio, ranging from SMEs to multinational corporations across various sectors. Earlier in his career, he gained valuable insights into the legal profession as a lawyer, working across multiple fields of law.

In his approach to advising clients, Nils consistently thinks from a business perspective rather than relying solely on a rigid legal 'problem-solving' model. He believes that fully understanding a business and its needs allows an IP attorney to shift from a reactive towards a proactive role, transforming an IP portfolio from a mere necessity into a true asset.

Nils holds master’s degrees in Law, Management, and Intellectual Property and ICT Law from the Catholic University of Leuven.

Nils is fluent in Dutch and English and has a strong knowledge of French.
