Lena Vanderhaeghen is a Patent Adviser. At Ghent University, she obtained a Master's degree in Bioscience engineering, specialising in Chemistry and Bioprocess Technology. In the framework of her thesis, she investigated the valorisation potential of waste streams from Ecuador into valuable biorefinery products using fast pyrolysis.
Lena's activities at brantsandpatents include drafting patent applications and handling grant procedures, as well as advising clients on patentability, freedom to operate and infringement.
Her field of work is chemistry, more specifically chemical analysis and formulation technology, industrial biotechnology and chemical product development. In addition, she has knowledge of sustainable production processes and clean technologies.
Lena is fluent in Dutch and English and has a basic knowledge of French.
