Leen van Kerckhoven

Leen van Kerckhoven is a patent advisor. She holds a Master of Science in Engineering, majoring in Neuro-engineering, from Ghent University. During her master’s thesis, she worked on flexible implant probes for optogenetic stimulation in epileptic rats, where she developed extensive expertise in biomedical research and neurotechnology.

At brantsandpatents, her activities include drafting patent applications and managing prosecution procedures. She also advises clients on patentability, freedom-to-operate and infringement matters.

Her technical expertise lies in biomedical technology, medical devices and the life sciences.

Leen is fluent in Dutch and English, and has a basic knowledge of French.
