Elke Maquestiau
Elke Maquestiau is a European Patent Attorney. At the University of Ghent she obtained a Master in Biochemistry and Biotechnology with a major in Plant Biotechnology (2017), and a Master in Business Economics, specialization Business Economics (2018). In the context of her thesis, she investigated strigolactone-induced germination of Phelipanche ramosa, a parasitic plant.
Elke’s activities at brantsandpatents include drafting patent applications and handling grant procedures, as well as advising clients on patentability, freedom to operate and infringement.
Her field of interest is in biological sciences and biotechnology.
Elke is fluent in Dutch and English and has a basic knowledge of French.
