Christoph Bourgeois

IP legal counsel

Christoph Bourgeois is a lawyer (LL.M. from Ghent University, 1995) with an additional specialisation in Intellectual Property Law (Diploma in Intellectual Property Law – Queen Mary and Westfield College (London), 1996). Christoph is also a Certified BMM Trademark Attorney®.

In 1996 he started his professional career at Gevers as a Trademark and Design Attorney and from 2006 he was a Managing Director of Gevers Marks nv.

In 2011, together with Johan Brants, he founded the office brantsandpatents, which provides integrated and client-oriented services for all forms of intellectual property (patents, trademarks, designs, etc.).

Christoph has experience in advising both SMEs and large companies with regard to the protection of their innovations and trademarks, designs, domain names, packaging and other innovations at home and abroad. He also defends the interests of his clients in conflicts relating to intellectual property, including opposition proceedings before the Benelux Office for Intellectual Property and the Office for Intellectual Property of the European Union.

Since 2014, Christoph has been involved in the training of future BMM attorneys.

Christophe is fluent in Dutch, French and English.
